THE TORS COUNSELLING

“Most psychological difficulties were once adaptive solutions to life challenges. They may have been costly solutions, but they were solutions nevertheless. Difficulties arise when circumstances change and old solutions no longer work, or become self-defeating, but we continue to apply them anyway.”

Jonathan Shedler

WHY SEEK HELP?

Approaching therapy or counselling can feel like a daunting prospect; you may be in crisis and wish for change or you may simply want to explore some aspect of your experience more deeply. Either way, it is a positive and courageous decision to make.

Whatever the reason that brings you to therapy, the process aims to provide a chance for you to express and explore your feelings, thoughts and beliefs and work towards living a life that feels more fulfilling to you.

Therapy offers a space to find insight into why we feel and behave as we do.

The goal is to enable change to take place.
